This is an excellent movie and a good reminder that we must fight against fascism and dictators no matter where we are. Man-seob is a taxi driver in Seoul who lives from hand to mouth, raising his young daughter alone. I'm sure that maybe not all of this movie is based on fact, however, I saw this and thought of the protesters in Tiananmen Square in 1989 and the protesters in El Salvador who went out into the streets to shout out that this is WRONG! It is a sad part of history in South Korea, but it is still happening around our world in 2017 soon to be 2018.Īs a 62-year-old American who has seen these stories over and over again through my life I know we can't get enough of excellent movies like this to remind us that there are things worth standing up and fighting for in our country, no matter where we live. I wept to see the taxi drivers drive in and risk their lives so the truth could be told.
As I watched this movie I was reminded of all the brave students in history who dared to challenge authority and what they saw as wrong in need of righting.
